Plot:

The movie is about a man (named Antonio) and his three friends. At the beginning of the movie, we see one friend of Antonio gets kidnapped. While Antonio was enjoying with his two other friends at a bar, a man gives them a VCD, which, when played, shows how the kidnapped friend has been tortured and murdered.

Antonio knows that the other three of them are also in danger, so using his late uncle's reputations, he asks help to a mobster. When the mobster asks him in details about what actually happened, we see how Antonio and his friends has fallen in this life threat.

Three years ago, when the four of them were going somewhere in one night, a car blocked their way in a cross section, even when the signal was green. They started shouting to that car, but unfortunately, that car belonged to some local gangster. The team of that gangster came out of the car and beat Antonio and his friends severely.

Few months later from then, one of Antonio's friends found the gangster and his working place. They planned to rob that gangster to get their revenge. They planned the whole thing and examined all their possibilities. They spent enough time for taking their preparations and finally, robbed the gangster. After the robbing, they went to some place far away and enjoyed with their money. At one time there, four of them dropped a few drops of blood on a bill and kept that as a symbol of their bond.

Now after all this time, the gangster is attacking Antonio's group. After listening everything, the mobster (whom Antonio called) agrees to set up a meeting between Antonio and the furious gangster. When Antonio tells this other two friends about it, they become furious at first, but then agrees to Antonio. His wife also gives him her support.

At the scheduled time, Antonio meets the gangster in presence of his guardian mobster. The gangster demands his money back. But its not possible for Antonio to get all these money he spent already. Finally, the only solution which gets agreed by both is, Antonio will help the gangster to collect an amount of pending money from a party.

So, Antonio, along with his two friends, head to that place to collect the money. But everything doesn't go according to their plans.

My review about this movie:

First of all, i didn't like this movie at all.

The plot was okay. The ending seemed shocking and unexpected, but overall, the whole story of 1000 Times More Brutal looked realistic.

The weakest points of this movie are poor acting and bad screenplay. The director had the chance to make a better movie then this based on the same plot, but failed completely. The bad direction and bad acting has ruined the whole movie. Specially, the acting of the leading character Antonio were the poorest of them all, followed by his friends. The acting of the villain characters were comparatively better.

The dialogues were also poor, nothing to interest anyone at all. Dialogues are very important for gangster movies likes this, but the director has also failed to realize their importance.

How their identities was revealed to the gangster seemed completely unrealistic. The director has also wasted enough time to show some unnecessary scenes, which didn't have much effect on the main plot.

The screenplay were also poor, as I said earlier. Even with a plot like this, 1000 Times More Brutal will completely fail to keep you interested.

For the language, violence and nude scenes, this movie is not for kids.

So, overall, I didn't enjoy this movie at all. After watching it, i felt like I've wasted my time. I will not recommend 1000 Times More Brutal to anyone.

Plot:
At the beginning of this movie, we see a werewolf attacking the family of a little boy named Charles. Both of Charles’s parents die trying to save him, but finally Charles kills the werewolf and saves himself. Before dying, his father gives him a locket which was a sign of great werewolf hunters.

Years have passed and Charles has grown up. He is now the leader of a team which is renowned for hunting werewolves. One day, few men come to him asking his help, telling him that a werewolf has killed a lot of people in their village. Charles also finds that, that werewolf is of a special kind, which can hunt for three days in a row. He heads for that village with his team. On the way, they see a cart carrying dead bodies and also meet a zombie who has been infected by werewolf. As their regular procedure, Charles’s team shoots the zombie in its head and then burns the body.

Then we see a teenage boy named Daniel who is living nearby a village where the werewolf has attacked. He is studying to be a doctor and has an affair with a rich girl. Daniel’s mother runs a hotel cum brothel in that village. Charles’s team reaches Daniel’s village just when a man was asking for the bounty of killing the werewolf to the local police chief, by bluffing the villagers. Charles exposes the bluff and then, by bargaining with the police chief, doubles the bounty announced by the police. Daniel becomes impressed by seeing Charles’s team and offers them his assistance. Charles politely declines. Charles’s team starts to stay at Daniel’s mother’s hotel.

Daniel‘s girlfriend tries to stop Daniel from becoming an werewolf hunter and also offers him to get admitted in a medical college, which Daniel declines. He keeps on working with the village’s doctor. They regularly get patients been attacked by the werewolf and kill the ones who have got affected. Meanwhile, Charles takes preparation for hunting and on the next moon, sets a trap in the jungle to catch the werewolf. At the same time, a group of poachers were also after the werewolf. The werewolf leads poachers to Charles’s trap and thus, both of the teams fail to catch it. Charles understands that this werewolf is intelligent and thus, different from other werewolves. Daniel also gets chased and taken by the werewolf. Then the werewolf attacks Daniel’s mother’s hotel and kills some bad people.

Daniel finds a pattern in how this werewolf attacks people and proves to Charles that it only attacks low life. Being impressed, Charles listens to Daniel and together they goes to the local gypsy head who gives them idea about how powerful and special this werewolf is. He also tells them that they must catch it in next two days otherwise, it will be able to transform at its will and will be impossible to stop.

In the meantime, the villagers lose faith into the hunters and try to take matters in their own hands. They identify some persons who don’t have a strong alibi about them when the werewolf attacked last night and suspect them as werewolf. Daniel’s mother, his girlfriend’s father, the gypsy head, the police chief and some other people are kept into the jail for that night to see if any one of them is the werewolf. Charles also sets up another trap with the help of Daniel. They use one of the poachers as bait, as the werewolf is hunting lowlifes.  At the night, the werewolf attacks. This time again, all of Charles’s team’s efforts goes in vain and the werewolf escapes. But surprisingly, the werewolf hurts none of the members of Charles’s team when it has easy chances to kill them.

At the same time in the jail, the police chief feels seek. Becoming frightened, the guards kill all of the people in the jail, except Daniel’s mother who escapes. Then we get to know the human identity of the werewolf. We also see how he/she has become a werewolf and the reason why he/she has this special power. We can also see that an important person in that village is protecting and training the werewolf.

One member of Charles’s team finally finds out who the werewolf was and puts him in display in front of the villagers to reveal its true identity. But the werewolf breaks free and goes to hiding. Finally it comes face to face with that member, which also reveals another identity of that companion of Charles.

Can Charles or Daniel kill the werewolf? Can the human identity of the werewolf save the persons he/she love? Let’s watch the movie to find the answers.

A Scene from the movie Werewolf: The Beast Among Us

My review about this movie:
First of all, I’ve found Werewolf: The Beast Among Us as a better than average werewolf movie.

The plot seemed nice and interesting. It was not easy to guess who the werewolf was and from time to time, the director has given signals to misguide us in that guessing, and it felt exciting. Finding the werewolf was not the end of the movie. We got that answer long before the movie’s end and a lot of other things happened after that. But overall, the plot is good enough to keep you attached.

The acting and the dialogues were good to. All the actors and actresses have done a good job here.

The makeups and special effects were also good. The werewolf and its transformation effects seemed natural. Specially, the makeup of the werewolf was pretty good, so I wonder why the director has not shown it more on the whole movie.

I found a big plot hole in this movie. When you see the human identity of the werewolf, you can clearly remember that you saw that person being chased by the werewolf. But the whole movie is about only one werewolf, nowhere else it shows any second one. It is hard to accept this type of mistake in a movie like this.

What I didn’t like about this movie was the graphic scenes used in it. The director could show less (or indirectly) of them without harming the sense of the movie at all. This movie could do better without them.

Although there is no nude scene in Werewolf: The Beast Among Us, but for the body pieces and other
scenes, this movie is not suitable for kids.

So, overall, I liked this movie. I’ll mark this movie as good, although not great. Werewolf: The Beast Among Us is surely worth giving a try.

What do you think about this one? Feel free to comment.

The Cold Light of Day is an action thrille released in 2012. It is written by Scott Wiper, John Petro and directed by Mabrouk El Mechri. The major roles of this movie are played by Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis, VerĂ³nica Echegui and Sigourney Weaver.

Plot:

A guy named Will goes to Spain to spend the holidays with his family (against his will). His father apparently works for USA embassy and right now, posted in Spain.  He, along with his parents, brother and brother’s girlfriend goes to fishing in the sea. Will is continuously busy with his works and that causes an accident which injures Will’s brother’s girlfriend. Will’s dad throws Will’s phone to the sea. To make some important calls and to get some supplies, Will swims to the shore.

When he returns to the beach, he doesn’t sees their boat has disappeared. Finally he finds their boat abandoned with no one in it. He runs to the local police station. After knowing his name, the police take him near the boat and another man comes there, who wants to take Will to the place where his family is. Sensing danger, Will tries to break free and suddenly his dad appears. Together they fight the police and escapes. Will then learns from his dad that his dad’s job is not what it seems and his actions are the reason behind the kidnap of his family.

Will’s dad takes him to an CIA agent and he tries to find a briefcase, which, the agent said, is passed to other hands.  While returning to the car, his dad is shot to death by a sniper. Will takes his dad’s phone and gun and runs for his life while that sniper keeps chasing him. He manages to enter US embassy. The people of the embassy can’t help him, moreover, frames him for killing an police officer. Then the CIA agent (lady) comes to the embassy and offers him her help. But sensing danger, Will runs away from the embassy.
Will gets a call on his father’s phone from the kidnappers who addresses Will’s father as Tom. They give Will a timeline to return the briefcase. The he sees a name on the dial list several times. He calls that number and finds an address.

He goes to that person’s office and finds a girl there who is the niece of the person whom will wants to find. The man from embassy appears there and wants to kill them both, but Will kills him. Then they go the girl’s uncle’s home but find him dead there. The CIA agent comes there and while escaping from there, Will gets shot. But he, along with the girl finally manages to escape. The girl takes him to a nightclub and the people at the (the girl’s friends) nightclub help them.  The girl was surprised to find Will’s father’s photo in his phone. Then they find out, she is Will’s sister.

Will then goes to meet the kidnappers at their scheduled time and place. He finds his family there with the kidnappers. The kidnappers are Mossad agents and after they get sure Will is innocent, they tell Will the facts about the briefcase. Will learns that the CIA agent is the culprit behind all these. The Mossad agents hold Will’s family for the briefcase and also warn him, they have no reason to keep Will’s family alive once the briefcase has been sold to wrong hands.

To get the briefcase, Will then lures the hitman to him in the nightclub by using the girl’s credit card. The hitman is then caught by the nightclub’s bouncers. But they fails to get any information from him. According to Will’s plan, they let the hitman escape and then follow him, which takes them to the CIA agent.

The last part of the movie is all about securing the briefcase, Will’s attempts to save his family and to get revenge of his father’s murder.

My reviews:

First of all, I’ll mark it as an average action movie.

The plot of the movie is good enough, no question about that. But this movie is a little weak on acting and special effects. There are not much flaws on acting, but still it could be better. A better reputed actor at Will’s character could take this movie higher.

I have another complain about the casting. When you start an action movie with Bruce Willis’s name on it, obviously you will have some high expectations. But the death of the character who is being played by him in just about half an hour of the movie, was a big turn down for me.

This movie has almost all the things you’ll want in an action thriller, such as powerful villain, good plot and car chases, but almost all of these lack good special effects in here. You will specially feel it at the car chasing scenes at the end.

This movie also lacks a romantic touch. The main female character is the sister of the hero. It would be better to watch if that was not the case and the girl was somehow attached with Will.

It also looked ridiculous to me that a highly trained evil CIA agent who could shoot to kill a handful  of Mossad agents at the end, missed Will who were just a few feet away from her at the middle of the movie.

Although this movie doesn’t contain any nude scenes, still it doesn’t give any reason to watch it with kids.

So, I won’t recommend this movie to action movie lovers. But still, its not so bad, so if you are looking to kill your time, Watching The Cold Light of Day can be an option.

Lookout Movie Review

Lookout

Lookout is a science fiction action movie released in 2012. It is directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger, and written by Mather, St. Leger, and Luc Besson. The major characters of this movie is played by Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Vincent Regan, Joseph Gilgun, Lennie James, and Peter Stormare.  Don’t confuse this movie with the crime thriller ‘The Lookout’ of 2007.

Plot:
This movie tells a story of 2079. A man (maybe a spy)named Snow gets wrongly accused by secret service for killing a secret service agent and for trading confidential data. He is shown evidence that he has killed the agent, but he denies it. He is then sent to jail. But before he gets arrested, he manages to slip a briefcase (which was supposed to have the important data) to his friend, who hides it in a locker.

In the meantime, the daughter of U.S.A. president Emiliegoes to visit a prison in space, referred as MS1 (for Maximum Security). She interviews a prisoner (Hydell) but during the interview, Hydell brakes free from the chains and then he frees all the prisoners in that jail. The prisoners start a riot and kill most of the security guards and officers of the prison, led by Hydell’s elder bother. They just keep some (including Emillie) alive as a bait and takes control of the whole prison.

Secret service gets informed about this situation and knows about the condition of the President’s daughter. They convinces Snow to go to a rescue mission to MS1 to bring Emilie alive out of there. Snow agrees to go there knowing his friend was in that prison.

At MS1, Emilie manages to run from the hold-up and hides in a room with her bodyguard. But as oxygen gets almost finished in that room, her bodyguard commits suicide to give her a few more minutes. After she becomes unconscious, Snow brakes in that room and takes Emilie out before the prisoners enter the room by cutting the doors.

Snow then takes Emily to a hidden place and helps her to disguise. Then they starts to look for his friend, but only to find him gone insane. Snow cannot learn anything from him about the briefcase’s location.
The next part of the movie is about Snow’s rescue mission, about his fight to get out of that prison alive, about his getting out of the things he’s accused for.

My review about this movie:

First of all, I’d say, I liked this movie.

This is a pretty regular science fiction action movie which is not very rare, but this one is well made and well directed.

One interesting thing about this movie is Guy Pearce’s dialogues. They are hilarious! Its something like the famous ‘Men in Black’ series, which is a serious movie itself, but the hero’s dialogues will make you laugh every now and then. Just like that, there is no comedy scene in the whole movie and Snow is a pretty badass action hero, but his dialogues are massively humorous. Although by reading this review, you may think the funny dialogues may not properly fit with a serious crime movie, but in this one, the dialogues are enjoyable and have not harmed the movie’s seriousness, not even a bit.

The acting of the major characters is okay, but I wont say perfect. In a movie like this, there were opportunities and they could be better. Same goes for the make up.

The special effects are also good. There is no lack or no over-do.

I think the plot is the only thing which has kept this movie away from being perfect. I mean, the plot is good, but there are a few plot-holes or weakness in this movie which has harmed the solidness of the plot. For example, the security system at the prison (MS1) seemed unrealistic. How come such a high priority prison did not have any proper isolation for the prisoners planned for a case like this? The prisoners could break free and could take control of the whole situation very easily (for example, we saw a very good illustration of kind of similar scenario in the movie “Conair”). Someone wanted to use sleeping gas on the whole premise, but failed as the rebel leader killed him. How come there was no option to that from the control room? Snow’s identity was not shown in this movie. He could be a criminal, a spy or a secret service agent, but none of them was explained. The way Snow was plotted seemed very weak. Why the right person was on the right place on the right time is also not shown. We also didn’t get to see how the president was put back to his post after being pulled from it.

But don’t let this confuse you, as I said, even with this weakness, the plot is good.

Although there is no nudity in this movie, but for violence and language this one is not a good choice for children.

So, overall, the movie is good, if not excellent. I’d recommend it to the action movie lover. According to my guess, you may not love it, but should like it.

What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments.
