Plot:
Buzzy and Katy are just a regular newlywed couple living their ordinary life. They are very close to the family of Katy's sister (she and her husband) who are leading an unhappy conjugal life. Buzzy regularly visits to a gym which is owned by Katy's sister's husband. Katy's sister and her husband regularly fights with each other  over very small things and whenever they are around Buzzy and Katy stops their fight.

One day, the simple life of Buzzy and Katy gets interrupted when Buzzy’s sister Linda comes to live in their apartment without proper prior notice. Linda leads a bohemian lifestyle, without taking much care about anything. Buzzy loves her younger sister very much, but Linda’s lifestyle doesn’t match with the peaceful lifestyle of the couple and this irritates Katy. For the sake of the peace inside the house, Katy keeps herself from exploding.

To make the situation worse, Katy's old boyfriend visits their home one day for some reason and meets Linda, who, starts to see him. He has a lot in common with Linda, but Buzzy has a hard time accepting this relation and asks Linda to get away from it.

The fights between Katy's sister and her husband grows more and more and at at one point, they get separated. After separation, she moves in with Katy which complicates the situation more. She also cannot tolerate Linda and wonders why Katy is letting Linda stay in their house.

All these things together create irritations between Buzzy and Katy. So, the happy life of Buzzy and Katy gets complicated and they start to think about their marriage all over.

My review about this movie:
I find Newlyweds as just a regular romantic movie, nothing more. It felt nothing special.

The plot is very simple, and at the end, you will find a very predictable conclusion for a romantic movie. The only positive thing about the plot is, it tells the realistic story of a couple, which can happen to anyone.

The acting of all the major characters were okay. Same goes for the dialogues and makeups.

The characters of Katy’s ex-husband and of her brother in law seems very weird to me. Both of them seemed irregular and unrealistic. The character of Linda is okay, she just portraits a girl who doesn’t care about anything.

In the whole movie, the main characters are seen giving their comments (from being outside of the plot of the movie) about the current situation in every few minutes, which gives the film a documentary-like image. Seriously, I haven’t found any point for this. It could feel better, if the director could tell the stories in a regular way. Leaving this comments parts, the director could add more story in this movie.

As I said, there is nothing surprising about the ending.

So, overall, I didn’t enjoy watching Newlyweds  I won't recommend it for any reason, but if you still want to watch it……… its your choice.

Plot:
This movie tells the story of two long time best friends Jason and Julie and four more friends of them. Among the other four friends of them, Alex & Leslie and Ben & Missy are couples with children. Both of the couple are living a very unhappy married life. None of Jason and Julie has plans for getting married, but Julie wants to have a child with Jason and Jason agrees to her proposal.

So they do it and Julie gives birth to a baby boy, Joe. Together they start parenting in a beautiful way by sharing the responsibilities. Their life becomes much better, beyond the imagination of the other two couples. But soon Julie gets a crush on Jason and gets hurt when Jason starts seeing another girl. Her feelings get expressed by her behavior, but Jason overlooks them. Controlling herself, Julie also starts to see another man.

The six friends, along with Jason’s girlfriend and Julie’s boyfriend, goes to a ski trip. At a dinner there, Ben (one of the other four friends) starts questioning Julie and Jason’s relation and their future. Soon it starts a argument between Jason and Ben and at a point, Ben leaves the resort. Later on Ben and his wife gets divorced.

After a few days, on her birthday, Julie tells Jason about her feelings towards him but Jason replies, he thinks of Julie only as her friend and he is having a good relation with his girlfriend.

Julie cannot live with that, so she leaves her place and moves to somewhere a little far from Jason. Few days later, Jason brakes up with her girlfriend and feels that, he also has feelings for Julie.

Next………… okay, lets watch the movie to know what happens next.

My review about this movie:
First of all, I’d say, its just a typical romantic movie.

The plot is regular and the ending is very predictable, what we expect in all regular romantic movies. You can predict the ending in just 10 minutes after the movie starts and it will not surprise you. So there is nothing special about the plot.

The acting is just okay, nothing extraordinary. Actually I didn’t like the acting of Adam Scott. To be honest, I’d say the acting of all the other characters are not that good, but still will not make you feel bad watching it.
The makeups are also good.

A good thing about this movie is the appearance of Megan Fox as Jason’s girlfriend. But she doesn't have much effects on the plot, just adds glamour to this movie, nothing more.

There is nothing else special in this movie to look for.

About comedy……. I haven’t found much of that in here.

So, overall, don’t expect much from this movie, otherwise you will be disappointed. I will not recommend Friends With Kids as a great movie, but if you are a fan for the romantic movies, watching it wont hurt you.

Asylum Blackout Movie Review

Asylum Blackout

Asylum Blackout is a horror thriller directed by Alexandre Courtes. It was first released by the name The Incident in 2011. Then it took the name Asylum Blackout in 2012.

A scene from the movie Asylum Blackout by Ocean's Movie Reviews
A scene from the movie Asylum Blackout

Asylum Blackouttells the story of George (Rupert Evans), Max (Kenny Doughty), and Ricky (Joseph Kennedy) —three bandmates who spend their days working in the kitchen of Sans Asylum, a high security mental institution for the criminally insane. Their job includes preparing the foods for the inmates (i.e., the patients) and serving the foods.

Plot:
The plot of this movie is about a horrifying night in a mental asylum. The leading characters of this movie works as cooks in a mental asylum. Although they serve the patients food from inside a protected room, but sometimes they face the outrageous behaviors from the patients. They are used to this stuffs. In a mental asylum, it is common for patients to behave in very strange or weird ways, but some of patients’ behavior are sometimes more strange than others, sometimes it seems like some of them are manipulating the others.

Things start to get weird on a night of a heavy thunderstorm. One of the leading characters, George was called earlier than his regular duty hours for that day to receive the supplies. The cooks were already done with their for that day and were about to leave. Suddenly the power fails on the asylum and the entry and exit doors get locked for this. Now they were trapped inside the asylum. It could still be okay, unless some of the patients start to get furious and take advantage of this situation. What would u call a house full of mental patients (including maniacs) without any control system? Chaos? Yes, it is. Due to the lack of electricity, the whole control and security systems fail and the stuffs are outnumbered. Some brutal maniacs start to kill the stuffs and soon, the others join the party.

At first, the cooks could fine some hiding places, but not for long. They called the cops for help, but the cops replied that it would take sometime before they reach here, because of the weather. So soon, like the stuffs, they start to keep falling victims of the patients.

The next part of the movie is all about their fighting, their attempts of survival in this hell until any help comes from outside.

My reviews about this movie:
Okay, a movie with a plot like this is supposed to be frightening, and yes it is. The whole film is shown in a dark-ish view, which perfectly matches with the scary plot. The acting of all the main characters (including the maniacs), lighting and the sound effects is a total success to the challenging job of creating a intense violent atmosphere inside the asylum.

You cannot understand this horrifying situation without some very graphic images. So the director has put plenty of them in it. Obviously, the movie will give u a chill. The make ups and the special effects are realistic and u will be able to feel the haunting atmosphere inside the asylum. Please do not watch this movie with children.

But the most interesting thing about this movie is its ending. If u haven’t seen it already, then from what I’ve written till now, would seem like just another good thriller/horror movie. Actually it is, until the very last minute. I bet, throughout the whole movie, none can ever guess that this might be coming at the end. For me, it was totally unpredictable.

In different reviews, people have written the ending has spoilt this movie. Not for me, I think this ending will make u think about the whole movie again and again. And I liked it.

I kind of find it like an open ending. The director has made most of this movie and has left the ending for our imagination. We may find our own explanation and end the movie according to that. So u can’t just finish seeing this movie. I’ll stay with u for a while after its finished.

So overall, I liked watching this movie and would certainly recommend it, specially to the horror lovers.

Ending Explanation:

I’ve looked over different websites to see how people are explaining the ending. I think, the director has given clue for a clear answer throughout the movie but the clues are too subtle to notice.

Spoiler alart : do not read the below parts if u haven’t seen the movie. To keep the fun intact, i've written the below parts in white font. So if u are very much interested to know, or have already seen the movie and looking for explanations, pls select the below part by pulling the mouse to view the text.

Anyway, I’m giving some possible explanations about the ending here:

1. George went crazy after the whole incident and imagining what is shown at the ending.

2. George himself is an inmate all along and his normal life and life as a cook is an illusion in his head (or may be his past life). He leads the whole massacre, so there is no H.G., or, H.G. is just a victim. So, he just sees his actions as they are being done by  his alter ego, H.G.

3. When George was knocked out while putting some inmates to their cellar, he imagined the whole thing. So actually there was only the blackout, but no massacre. He kept dreaming it again at the end.

The Cabin in the Woods Movie Review

The Cabin in the Woods

The movie "The Cabin in the Woods" is a horror film released in 2012. Although, according to wikipedia, the film is a comedy horror one, I've failed to understand the 'comedy' part of it. i'd go with the imdb's criteria, 'horror, mystery, thriller. This film is directed and co-written by Drew Goddard and co-written and produced by Joss Whedon. The role of the main characters (5 friends) are played by  Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, and Jesse Williams.

Plot:
5 college students go to a vacation trip to a forest cabin. From the beginning of the movie, some technicians are seen to be working at a control room, preparing for an event. When the students start for their trip, someone waiting at a rooftop, updates another about their journey through wireless. On the way to the cabin, the students stop at a gas station and meets a stranger who behaves with them very rudely. As they take a turn on the road, it is shown that they are entering inside an almost invisible protective border.

When they reach the cabin, they like it and very soon, one of them discover a two way mirror, showing the activities of another room. In the meantime, the technologists from the control room starts some kind of bet with their colleagues. All this time the people from the control room is observing and sometimes controlling the groups movements from there.

At the night they find the cellar filled with some strange items, including the diary of a girl. suddenly strange things starts to happen, like zombies appears and kill one of them. the zombies keep on haunting each of them and their game of survival.

The next part of the movie is all about their fight, survival and finding the room.

My Review about this movie:
First of all, i did not like the plot of the movie. This is a mixture of science, ghosts and myth. And to me, they got mixed in a bad way, which doesn't make any sense.

From the time when zombies appeared, i kept on wondering where are they coming from and how come they are not dying after all those attempts. After seeing the control room with big equipments, the hidden camera etc, i was not ready to believe that they were actual zombies. And there came the ghosts. Every type of ghost you can imagine, every type of ghost you've seen or read about, all of them were there. And they were locked in glass boxes. So how come you have those ghosts and still need electrical control system, lifts to carry them? How come u need cameras to see inside the cabin? Why not use magic globes to see them and use some teleporters to carry them? and about the Gods... and the very ending........ no comments.

So as I told ago, this movie makes no sense to me. I know there are a lot of movies also which makes no sense (actually, most of the the movies) but still pleasant to watch, but to me, this movie is not one of them. Actually I don't understand what the producers or director was trying to do with this movie. You need to have at least something you like in a movie, but here I haven't found any.

The acting and script is okay, but nothing extra ordinary.

Seeing an imdb rating of 7.2 indicates that most of the peoples' opinion about this movie is opposite to me, but here is me, writing my reviews.

In the whole movie I've found nothing for which i may recommend this movie to someone else. So I won't.

Anyway, feel free to share your comments.
